What are MBOB and EBOB?
MBOB and EBOB, sponsored by the North Carolina Association of School Librarians, is a program designed to encourage reading and expose students to quality literature by prominent authors. In a game show format, team members answer questions from selected books in a competition against teams from other Duplin County schools.
Who are the MBOB and EBOB coaches?
Mrs. Kilpatrick
Who can participate in EBOB?
Any student in 4th or 5th grade can try out for the EBOB team.
Who can participate in MBOB?
Any student in 6th-8th grade can try out for the MBOB team.
What do I have to do to try out for the team?
*Return your signed permission slip
*Begin memorizing the Title and Author of the books on this year’s list
*Agree to read books on the MBOB or EBOB list
*Meet deadlines for reading and AR testing
*Behave properly at all MBOB and EBOB meetings and events
The team can have up to 12 students. Title/Author quizzes, AR tests, and student motivation will be used to determine who makes the team.
What if I lose my book list?
The list is available on the RH-M website under “Activities and Clubs”, then “Battle of the Books”.
